Scholarship Parameters
At our Annual Headliner’s night we will award several two thousand dollar ($2,000.00) scholarships to deserving high school student athletes who will be graduating this year from a high school within the area served by the Peninsula Sports Club. The award is not transferable and is not retroactive.
Our Scholarship Application will be available from your school’s Guidance Office on or about February 15. You may also request a copy of the application by sending your request by email to [email protected].
The scholarships shall be awarded to special and unique student athletes who:

Will pursue higher education beyond high school in the academic year immediately following your graduation.

Have made a contribution to athletics and their community.

Will not be receiving full financial assistance through an athletic or academic scholarship.

Have not received a commission or scholarship to a Military Academy.

Have the respect of their coaches, peers, and teachers.
Scholarship applicants must provide a typed double-spaced essay of 200 to 400 words in length on “How Sports Made Me a Better Person” along with the completed application package.
The Peninsula Sports Club’s selection committee will consider the following elements:

CHARACTER: Reflects the qualities of honesty, integrity, and courage.

LEADERSHIP: Possesses the capacity to lead and demonstrate the ability to provide direction which results in group achievement.

SCHOLARSHIP: Achieves above average scholarship, evidenced by proof provided by the nominating school that the student has been accepted by an institution of higher learning.

ATHLETICS: Must have received at least two (2) varsity monograms during their high school career.

PARTICIPATION Must have participated in a varsity athletic program (VHSL or VISSA) for a minimum of two (2) years including his/her senior year.
